Attendance Policy

• Attendance is mandatory in this class.
  
  
• Every student receives a Weekly Performance Grade, which counts for 10% of their total grade. Each student begins the week with 16 points out of 20, and can earn or lose those points based on their behavior in class. Every absence, whether excused or unexcused, subtracts 6 points from their weekly grade. However, the student can earn these points back by copying the agenda from a friend for the days they missed and then bringing their agenda book to the teacher. When the teacher and student have discussed what needs to be done, the student earns these points back.
  
  
• When a student is absent, they have as many days as they missed to make up the work without penalty. For example, if a student is out Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, then they have three days (Thursday, Friday, Monday) to get the work in “on time.”
